Shocking Footage Shows Point Law Enforcement Are Stabbed in Surprise Attack

Both Sergeants Moments Prior to the Attacker Was Tasered

A senior officer that leaped to the aid of a fellow officer who was ambushed by a knifeman was granted the Monarch's Honor for Courage.

Sgt Tim Ansell grappled with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown following he placed a weapon to the neck of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver after a traffic accident in Whalley Range in mid-2023.

Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a electric weapon.

"Officer attacked," the constable was heard to say over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and dashcam footage shared by the force depicted Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a head covered, run up to Sgt Foster from the rear with a knife extended.

He collided with the officer who lost balance and dropped to the ground, before Sgt Ansell stepped in and attempted to subdue him to the pavement although being repeatedly struck with the knife.

PC Wolstencroft Stunned the Assailant, Jacob Brown, with a Taser

PC Wolstencroft drew his Taser and sought a safe opportunity, concluding the struggle to an conclusion.

Sgt Ansell can be heard to say: "I need something on my neck here, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sgt Ansell sustained two deep cuts to his neck and more wounds to his arms and torso, while Sergeant Foster suffered cut injuries.

The department reported Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to control his fellow officer's blood loss prior to medical personnel arrived.

This most recent award comes subsequent to the law enforcement team were granted internal Bravery Awards in late 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the local officer association in April 2024.

They were also awarded a Regional Bravery Award in mid-2024.

"The actions of the entire team in the end saved each other and ensured no members of the public endured any injuries."

Brown was sentenced to an secure medical confinement in early 2024, as stated by the department.
